Guided tours Vicenza

All of our proposals about Palladio

Vicenza is the town of Andrea Palladio, the great architect started here his career and designed the most successful monuments such as the Palladian Basilica and the Olympic Theatre.

Since 1994 Vicenza is in the Unesco World Heritage List thanks to Palladio and the 24 Renaissance masterpieces he designed for the most important noble families: you can admire them walking through the streets called “contrà” in the historical city center: Palazzo Chiericati, Palazzo Thiene, Palazzo Iseppo Da Porto and many others. Vicenza is absolutely a town to be visited and “tasted” in every corner.

Around Vicenza many Venetian villas are spread and among them the outstading Villa Almerico Capra, Palladio’s masterpiece worldwide known as “La Rotonda”. Few minutes from it, the villa Valmarana ai Nani offers the most important cycle of frescoes painted by Gianbattista and Giandomenica Tiepolo in 1757.

The province extends from cultivated fields to sweet hills with vineyards and olive trees, up to mountains with WWI heritage and war memorials. Belonging to its Medieval past, in the area at the foot of the mountains you cannot miss the pretty towns of Marostica and Bassano del Grappa, where visitors can taste delicious local food, together with wine and grappa.
